Frequently asked questions
What is Prez Day to Tax Day 2025?
It is eight weeks of national protest by occupying capital buildings at each state's capital.
What will you do at the states' capitals?
From February 17 - April 15, from 12pm-4pm daily, we will occupy space at capital buildings across America (any building with some foot traffic and car traffic will do). We will sit there, with our signs, and chant, and commiserate, and brainstorm, and support each other. But most of all, we will demonstrate to our local representatives and to our online followers collectively, that we do not support the President's actions dismantling the federal agencies that protect us.
What the hell will this accomplish?
We could accomplish a non-violent change to the government from its current trajectory. We need 3.5% of the American population or about 11.7 million people to participate.

Between 1900-2006, campaigns of nonviolent civil resistance were twice as successful as violent campaigns. Erica will talk about her research on the impressive historical record of civil resistance in the 20th century and discuss the promise of unarmed struggle in the 21st century. She will focus on the so-called "3.5% rule"—the notion that no government can withstand a challenge of 3.5% of its population without either accommodating the movement or (in extreme cases) disintegrating. In addition to explaining why nonviolent resistance has been so effective, she will also share some lessons learned about why it sometimes fails.
Now is not the time to sit idly by
Our democracy is under attack. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are gone, labelled as "oppressive" to white people. Federal employees have been fired en masse. The safety of our aviation system, our food supply, the workplace, and other entities governed by federal agencies are at stake. Non loyalist media and government officials are being sued, threatened or investigated. Violent criminals from the January 6th assault on the Capital were let loose from prison, while non-violent immigrants were rounded up and shuttled across the world.
"Show me the incentive, and I'll show you the outcome." -Charlie Munger.
Incentive: Private prisons make their shareholders money, based on prison population.
Outcome: Lobbying and campaign contributions to allow for the expansion of criminalization and efforts to round up immigrants without legal status.
Incentive: Overworked people are too tired or demoralized to fight for their rights.
Outcome: Lobbying and campaign contributions to shrink influence of and protections to unions. Remove work safety and overtime regulations. Saddle people with debt from overconsumption, encouraged by the ease of online shopping.
Incentive: Under-educated people will vote against their best interests.
Outcome: Remove relevant and historically accurate content from textbooks, privatize education to coerce enrollment in alt-right Christian education, make postsecondary education cost prohibitive, ban books that contain any non-white, non-cisgender, non-Christian content. Legal threats to media organizations to control the tone of reporting and distribute intentionally misleading content.
Incentive: The ultra-wealthy Americans and corporations have an obligation to their shareholders for profit.
Outcome: Constant profit growth is the only thing considered when making decisions. Lobbying and campaign contributions to candidates who promise to fulfill the corporate greed.
Incentive: Massive profits from a broken health care system. Sick people consume more pharmaceuticals, prop up the wellness industry, and denials line the pockets of health insurance CEO's.
Outcome: Lobbying and campaign contributions that ensure things never get better, only get worse.
